The lady that pretends she owns these properties is seriously crooked.  She and her husband are also more than happy to post any drama about tenants publically on facebook on a public profile.  We decided to move because the couple refused to maintain the property, and started making disrespectful remarks when we had to see them. This is seriously the worst rental experience I have had, and I have rented at 5 other properties without issue.

The property owners (the husband and wife) refuse to do repairs to their properties such as replacing rotting wood decks, replacing insulation that was destroyed under the house by a previous tenant, raising the bathtub so it won’t spill and cause water damage every time you bathe, etc etc etc. When she does have maintenance done, the repairs are substandard.  If you live here, you will never see a licensed or insured handyman, roofer, plumber, or any other service person.  She attempts to pass the bill on to the tenant when they move out for the shoddy repairs.  They actually tried to sue my family to replace this water damaged floor we had asked her to address for years despite the huge rip and the holes in it from her “handyman.”

If you decide to rent here anyway, please be sure to do the following to protect yourself from this couple’s thievery:

Ask for receipts for all payments. She will decide that you didn't give her money later when you go to court if you don’t.

Do not trust her when she says, “You’re only acknowledging that the property is habitable.” She will attempt to prevent you from inspecting and annotating problems with the property. Again, do not trust her.

Take lots of pictures when you move in of every wall and surface. She will attempt to renovate her property at your expense and claim all damage came from your tenancy.

Keep track of who repairs the property. She will also, in her attempt to keep your deposit, claim that the value of repairs should be based on professional pricing.

If she tells you that you don’t have to do something in the lease verbally, make sure you get it from her in writing. She told my family we didn’t need to mow sections of the yard, but then attempted to charge us for overgrown vines from a neighboring property saying we failed to maintain the property.

An Examples of the couple’s crookedness in court:

In court, the couple sued us for damages only using the wife’s name. This was to insure only she was on the hook for a loss in court. When the judgement was issued against her, she tried to hide behind the fact that she was unemployed and had no income. Her husband, whose name is on the property deed, had his income protected by this crooked move. When she attempts to only include herself in a court case, include her husband’s name in the counterclaim. Even during the hearing where she was finally forced to pay us, she kept up her whining about how the properties are the only source of income for her…. Knowing the entire time that her husband actually is on the deed.

I could really keep going, but this should give you a good idea of what will happen if you rent here. Please just find a better place to rent from. Renting here is a big mistake.
